Word is there are a large number of speakers trying to address this matter. The hearing began at 7:30 est.

Make sure to be aware of the text of the resolution and go back also to reread this earlier blog thread on the subject.

  1. Kendall Harmon says:

Fascinating to me that this was given to the Committee on Evangelism.

  2. Stefano says:

Their concept of evangelism is rooted in concept of removing or “lowering the bar”. There are rationalizations aplenty but the reality is quite different.. As was pointed out in the book “Why Conservative Churches are Growing” if you lower the bar so someone could trip over it, few will even be interested. This is more an attempt to remove any incentive or reason to “come to Jesus”. Especially an exclusive Jesus, THE Way THE Truth and THE Life.

  3. Charles says:

The bishops will not go for this resolution (I’m guessing 50-50 for the deputies).

  4. SC blu cat lady says:

Well, That is what they think ‘evangelism’ is. Unfortunately, I don’t see the evidence that making communion available to all is doing any wondrous things bringing people in to TEC. These people never let facts get in their way of pushing their agenda.
